12 Questions to Start 2008 for You and your Team

Dear Leaders,

People who practice the Jewish faith begin their New Year celebration of Rosh Hashanah in prayer and reflection. From Monday evening to Wednesday evening - sometime in October - they will stop work and spend time in reflection. Their tradition calls them into ritual and community. For some, it is a time for reconciliation—to ask for and to offer forgiveness. It is also a time for renewal and hope, a time to eat apples dipped in honey, wishing one another a sweet new year.

12 Questions for Year End Reflection

  1. What mistakes have you made lately? What did you learn from them?
  2. In the past year, from the perspective of integrity, what most affected you personally, professionally and organizationally?
  3. Who are you? How do you see yourself personally, professionally and organizationally?
  4. What do you want to do (to be)? What are you doing about it?
  5. What are three examples of budding synergy in your area and how can we capitalize on them?
  6. What significant areas are there in the organization or ministry where you feel you could make a contribution but you cannot seem to get a hearing?
  7. What is your dream for your part of the organization or ministry?
  8. Who are your three highest potential people and what are you doing to develop them?
  9. Does this organization/ministry need you? Do you need this organization?
  10. What have you abandoned lately?
  11. What are three signs of impending entropy you see at this organization? What are you doing about it?
  12. Ask others "What are five key projects or goals of yours on which I can be of help or support?"
