FAQ: Emerging Leaders
1. When is the next class?
Generally, there are one or two new classes launched annually. If you would like to be informed of future classes please see the
dates, locations and details section of the website. For information on Arrow programs around the world, contact the international Arrow offices from the links on the home page.
2. Can I get academic credit for the Emerging Leader stream?
Significant academic credit towards a Doctor of Ministry degree is offered by
Gordon-Conwell Seminary and
Acadia Divinity School. In addition,
Wheaton College Graduate School offers significant transfer credit and tuition discount toward their Master of Arts in Evangelism and Leadership. Masters-level transfer credit is also available through many other seminaries across North America. Please contact the Arrow office for more information.
3. What is the time commitment for Arrow?
The Emerging Leader stream requires a total of four weeks over two years. Attendance at all four seminars is mandatory. Participants complete assignments before each seminar (reading several books and completing reflective papers & projects). The program also includes scheduled meetings with mentors once a month (2-4 hours) and with peer clusters every two to three months (4-6 hours).
4. How do I apply?
Get an
application form. Complete the application and four references and return them to Arrow Leadership. The application goes to a selection committee, which evaluates and accepts candidates. Applicants are informed several months prior to the start of a class.
5. What is the financial commitment?
The total cost of the Emerging stream is $16,000. However, Arrow Leadership is committed to raising a scholarship to cover 50% of the program cost, bringing the participant cost to $8000. There are flexible payment options available which allow leaders to make payments in full (prior to the start of the program), over two or four installments, or on a monthly basis.
6. Is the Emerging Leader stream associated with the "emergent church"?
No, the term emerging is used to describe our leaders who are proven Christian leaders (25-40 years old) who are serving in church, denominational or parachurch ministry, this stream focuses primarily on personal, pastoral and ministry leadership.
7. What do you mean by the term “emerging” leader?
Arrow seeks to identify and invest in emerging leaders who are proven Christian leaders (25-40 years old), leaders who are serving in church, denominational or parachurch ministry and leaders who are seeking to emerge to the next level of leadership influence and impact.
