"Lausanne is a movement - not an organization."
"to promote unity, humbleness in service, and a call to action for global evangelization"

A group of evangelical influencers met in 2001 to discuss the future of The Lausanne Movement. The underlying question was, “Is Lausanne still needed to bring together global Christian leaders to discuss critical issues and mobilize the church with the gospel for the whole world?”
If the number of applicants from over 200 nations to attend Cape Town 2010 is any indication, there is no question that The Lausanne Movement fills a critical need in the continued expansion of the Gospel for our world today. Four thousand men and women have been chosen by national selection committees to represent their countries at the Cape Town 2010 congress. Take a moment to view a short video clip on the history behind this third gathering.
"Lausanne is a movement - not an organization." recites Carson Pue when leaders ask him about it. "It is being brought together by the mobilization of thousands of volunteers around the world. To participate in a Lausanne conference call in preparation for the gathering in October, is akin to being in the United Nations" says Pue. "We all have day jobs but give time to this because it has historically proven to be a stimulus for Christianity globally enabling new partnerships to the sake of the Kingdom."
At the urging of evangelical leaders worldwide, the Lausanne Movement will hold the Third Congress on World Evangelisation in Cape Town, South Africa, 16-25 October 2010. The goal of Cape Town 2010 is to re-stimulate the spirit of Lausanne represented in the Lausanne Covenant: to promote unity, humbleness in service, and a call to action for global evangelization.
It is anticipated that over 4,000 leaders from 200 countries will attend on-site in Cape Town. Thousands more are expected to participate virtually – online and through other digital technology. Leaders unable to participant on-site will be encouraged to be involved in the Cape Town GlobaLink. These remote satellite Congress sites are interconnected to one another and to participants on-site in Cape Town.
Arrow graduates from around the globe are among those invited to represent their countries at this historic gathering in Africa. If you are an Arrow Leadership Graduate and attending Cape Town 2010 - please let us know as we are planning to hold a global Arrow gathering during the Congress.
Email Brenda Pue so we can invite you to the Arrow party!
Carson and Brenda Pue, along with Arrow board chair Miller Alloway will be attending and look forward to meeting you there.
