35 Under 35 Retreat Success
What a wonderful experience gathering emerging Christian leaders from across the nation together for days of focused attention on networking, studying God's view on leadership and praying together. It was tremendous. Next step is to roll out the 35<35 in the USA.
During the spring of 2007 we started with over 200 nominations of young Christian leaders from Victoria, British Columbia to St. John's, Newfoundland were submitted for the 35 Under 35 National Recognition Project. The hundreds and hundreds of pages of detailed background data, deeply affirming words and powerful stories overwhelmingly testify to the high calibre of dynamic young leaders God is raising up across Canada.
Each nominated leader received an official Certificate of Nomination as a symbol of heartfelt encouragement, public affirmation and deep appreciation from those who nominated them as well as the grateful selection committee. It is clearly evident that every nominated leader demonstrates leadership that inspires, challenges and makes a significant difference.
The 35 finalists were honored with additional recognition and several noteworthy benefits:
- - Profiled along with their vision and their leadership context in a special ChristianWeek: Report on Ministry magazine that was distributed nationwide.
- - Featured guests at the Canadian Council of Christian Charities Conference in Toronto (September 25-27, 2007) where Brian McLaren was a workshop facilitator.
- - Attended a three-day leadership retreat in Vancouver hosted by Arrow Leadership. This retreat provided the leaders an opportunity to network together, inspire one another and be encouraged to lead on for a lifetime.

The 35 Under 35 National Recognition Project is an initiative of Arrow Leadership, ChristianWeek, the Canadian Council of Christian Charities and the Bridgeway Foundation. We aim to identify, profile, celebrate, equip and encourage 35 key young leaders under 35, to invest in their lives and strengthen their leadership.
