Looking Ahead

Dear Friends,

I am writing to give you a ‘sneak peek’ of a special and exciting update about Arrow’s future – and to request your support.

This has been a time of reflection and listening for me and for Arrow. On a personal note, Brenda and I have been deeply blessed through our first grandchild – Landon (born to Jason and Kristin), watching our newly-married son Jeremy and daughter-in-law Shari thrive in a ministry internship across the world in Australia, and in a few weeks we look forward to our youngest son Jonathan graduating high school.

For Arrow, this has also been a very significant year. Beyond our daily work with God’s leaders across North America and around the world, this year marks my 10th year as Arrow’s President. Our board and I set out to focus these twelve months on prayerful listening, reflection and planning of God’s direction for Arrow’s next five years.

While we anticipate making a major announcement this summer, we are beginning to see very exciting clarity for Arrow’s growing impact over the next five years. As you will read in the SPECIAL EDITION of Lead On, we are describing our vision in a mountain climbing metaphor and are entering the “Base Camp” phase to ensure a strong finish to our fiscal year and a healthy foundation for a future of significant, growing impact in North America and around the world.

As a key step in our “Base Camp” phase we are delighted to announce that a Christian foundation who champions Arrow’s strategic focus on leader development has provided us with a tremendous opportunity – a matching grant. In practical terms, this matching grant will double every new dollar donated to Arrow before May 30, 2008 (with the foundation matching up to $25,000)
