Arrow Leadership Australia Announces Appointment of New Program Director

The Arrow program has just appointed Rev Julian Dunham to the role of Program Director for the Arrow program in Australia.

This appointment is part of the expansion and growth of the Arrow program that the board has planned for the next five years. Rev Dunham is an ordained Baptist Pastor who has been the Senior Pastor of Lilydale Baptist on the eastern outskirts of Melbourne. Julian brings much experience to this role from his time in Lilydale and before this in New Peninsula Baptist Church at Mornington.

Bishop Stephen Hale, Chair of the Arrow board said "The Arrow Board is very excited by Julian‟s appointment. We are pleased to have someone of Julian's experience and calibre in the role".

Rev Karl Faase, the current Executive Director of the Arrow Program, will remain as the Leader of the Arrow movement in Australia but most of the delivery of the Arrow Leadership program will be achieved through Julian's new role. "Julian adds to an already great team for Arrow Australia" Rev Faase said, "As a result of Julian's appointment alongside of Rev Sandy Jones and the outstanding state directors and regular presenters, Arrow will continue to be Australia's leading development program for Christian Leadership and Church workers".

Over the past year the Arrow board has been unfolding the new direction for the program. Key to these changes is the redevelopment of the curriculum, the move from two to three conferences and the growth of the program so that by 2010 there will be two concurrent programs graduating 30 emerging leaders each year.

"Arrow's role in the Australian Christian Church is crucial and we believe that the changes that the Board is undertaking will allow the program to significantly influence the future of the Australian church" Bishop Hale said.

Arrow Australia has been running for 14 years. The first director was Rev Peter Corney OA the former rector of St Hilary's Anglican, Kew in Melbourne. The program has graduated more than 200 participants during this time. Arrow Leadership Australia seeks to be a 'peak' national and interdenominational training program for emerging Christian leaders who have a passion for evangelism, demonstrated leadership skills and lives reflecting Jesus' heart and character.
