





This document defines and describes the relational partnership of the Arrow Alliance. Each country wanting to deliver national Arrow Leadership Programes is expected to sign up to this partnership. Signing this document indicates that the country has met the criteria outlined below and is thereby allowed to use the name Arrow. If at any point these criteria aren’t met, the country forfeits the right to continue the use of the Arrow name and membership of the Arrow Alliance.
The Alliance’s Identity
The Arrow Alliance is an international association of member organizations who deliberately invest in Christian leaders to fulfill Arrow’s mission according to an agreed set of values and criteria.
The Alliance’s Mission
The Arrow Alliance exists worldwide to identify, develop and network men and women leaders to be led more by Jesus, to lead more like Jesus and to lead more to Jesus.
The Alliance’s Values
The Arrow Alliance is committed to the following values in leadership development as crucial to the way we fulfill our mission.
Leadership
A highly relational and personalized approach.
Spiritual Transformation
A transformative model that encompasses call, character and competency.
Learning Community
A multifaceted approach to an integrated learning process.
Evangelism
A clear focus on contextualized evangelism
Kingdom
A kingdom seeking perspective that shapes ministry practice.
All this is Biblically based and undergirded by prayerful dependence on God.
The Alliance’s Statement of Faith
The Alliance adheres to the Lausanne Covenant.
Criteria for Membership of the Alliance
General Ethos
Arrow is committed to proving the best possible leadership development programme for leaders around the world. The criteria under general ethos reflect this priority.

• High level engagement with participants reflecting a commitment to intentional investment
• Participants drawn from a range of ministries
• Committed to excellence
Participant Selection Criteria
The participant selection criteria reflect our commitment to developing leaders from a range of backgrounds.
• Participants selected and invited
• Leaders with demonstrated potential, both emerging and existing leaders
• Gender inclusive
• Age specific (25 – 40)
• Reflecting ethnic diversity of context
• Cross denominational
Educational Approach
Central to Arrow is our educational approach that works on a range of levels over time.
• Biblically grounded
• Curriculum encompasses call, character, competence
• Learning within a community
• Use of assessment tools
• Highly individualized feedback
• Experiential learning
• Limited group size, up to 35
• Practitioner trainers
• On the job training/in-service
• Each participant has a mentor
• Discreet time frame (at least 18 months)
• Program to contain at least two significant live-in conferences of several days duration
• Commitment to learning through residential gatherings and reflection on daily life experience
Governance
To maintain accountability and integrity in all we do Alliance members agree to the following governance criteria
• Credible staff team
• Independent board or steering committee
• Financial integrity
• Independent national entities
• Partnering but not controlled by sponsoring bodies
• Sustainability
• Must include indigenous direction and leadership
• Programs agree to the Lausanne Covenant as their statement of faith
International Alliance
To belong to the Alliance involves certain responsibilities
• Continued adherence to the criteria that constitute an Arrow Programme
• Periodic evaluation by the Alliance of the leadership and its programme
• Annual update of the Arrow staff and board members
• Participation in Alliance meetings (approximately every two years) by the Director, chair of board or an agreed upon representative
