Dr. Jon Ohlhauser - Prairie Bible Institute

As a graduate of Prairie High School, Dr. Jon Ohlhauser has earned a B.Sc. from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, an M.A. from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC and a Ph.D. from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. Dr. Ohlhauser’s academic interests are in the field of Communication. He has a special interest in studying how human efforts in communicating the Gospel are empowered by God’s Spirit to touch the hearts of people. He has published and presented several manuscripts on this concept.

Dr. Ohlhauser has gained professional experience as a teacher in several public and Christian universities and has also worked as a speechwriter at the Provincial Legislature in Edmonton, Alberta. Most recently Dr. Ohlhauser served as a Vice President at Tyndale College & Seminary in Toronto. As the eighth President at Prairie Bible Institute, Dr. Ohlhauser is helping to continue to develop the educational ministry of PBI that began more than eighty years ago under the leadership of Mr. L.E. Maxwell.

Dr. Ohlhauser is married to his wife Jeneanne and they have seven children.

Prairie Bible Institute is comprised of three schools: Prairie Bible College, Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology and Prairie School of Mission Aviation.

Prairie Bible College is Canada’s oldest Bible College. Offering a variety of bachelor’s degrees, two-year Associate of Arts and one-year certificates, it specializes in training effective workers for churches and other Christian ministries.

Prairie College of Applied Arts & Technology is the first college in Canada offering two-year vocational programs combined with Christian higher education. Programs are currently offered in the areas of health care and early childhood care with programs in the areas of communications, disaster response and land/resource management being added shortly.

Recently Transport Canada indicated that our students score higher on their flight tests and written scores compared to students at other Transport Canada licensed facilities across the nation. To ensure this continues, the program will now be offered through the newly created Prairie School of Mission Aviation.
