Position Overview

Our 2020 Strategic Plan is seeking to double program capacity for the Emerging and Executive Streams of the Arrow Leadership Program, expand our new Sharpening Leaders Initiative and explore new program initiatives that will develop Jesus-centered leaders and meet the leadership development needs of many more organizations. The Director of Programs is a new position that plays a central role in the success of this strategic plan.

The Director of Programs reports directly to the President to provide strategic leadership and oversight to grow and deliver Arrow’s leadership development programs in North America. The role includes:

  • leadership of our program team,
  • developing and supporting multiple program teams for multiple programs,
  • growing and scaling capacity to accommodate ministry growth,
  • maximizing educational design for adult learners,
  • designing new curriculum for current and new programs,
  • researching Christian leadership issues and trends,
  • overseeing program delivery for multiple programs,
  • ensuring on-going evaluation,
  • facilitating innovation and continuous improvement,
  • supervising program staff who provide administrative support
  • active engagement as an ambassador to connect potential new participants, partners and financial supporters to the ministry

In addition, the Director will at times provide teaching, speaking and consulting to organizations and opportunities that grow awareness and deepen partnerships with ministry organizations.

The Director of Programs will also actively participate as a key member of Arrow’s Leadership Team in seeking to guide Arrow organizationally and grow the impact of the ministry.

Regular travel within North America is a significant requirement of this role. Occasional travel should be expected outside North America.

Education
  • Related Masters degree (ie. , MTh, M. Ed.) with Doctor of Ministry or similar preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of proven leadership, preferably in a ministry or non- profit environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building a team of effective teams.
  • Strong track record developing Christian leaders through speaking, teaching, writing, mentoring as well as program design and delivery.
  • Background in designing, implementing, delivering and evaluating transformative adult-focused learning.
  • Working with multiple multi-layered projects.
  • Proven ability to scale ministry capacity for growth.
  • Understanding of leadership issues and trends facing church, nonprofit and marketplace leaders in USA, Canada and globally.
Qualifications, Requirements and Skill-sets
  • Possesses a growing relationship with Jesus Christ coupled with strong character, integrity and a long-standing commitment to growing in faith.
  • Strong understanding and agreement with Arrow Leadership’s current ethos for leader development. An alumnus of the Arrow Leadership Program preferred.
  • A clear passion and track record of Jesus-centered leader development in ministry, non-profit and marketplace contexts.
  • Ability to provide strong departmental leadership while serving productively in a collaborative leadership team environment.
  • Spiritual discernment, biblical wisdom and positive presence in leading groups through transformative experiences.
  • Ability to travel regularly within and beyond North America to oversee programs, speak/teach/consult and engage organizational partners.
  • An understanding of both Canadian and American cultures coupled with an ability to engage sensitively in cross-cultural settings.

Assistant to the President

Arrow Leadership is seeking an Assistant to the President.

This role proactively supports and seeks to maximize the impact of the President’s Office through administrative service.  This role includes administrative support in coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling, correspondence, database input and maintenance as well as assisting in preparations for speaking, communications, donor support, board communications and special projects.

Key skills, gifts and experience to succeed in this role include:
  • Possesses a growing relationship with Jesus Christ coupled with strong character, integrity and a long-standing commitment to growing in faith.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to anticipate needs and offer solutions to problems.
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Experience as an administrative assistant with proven ability to coordinate schedules and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to handle a wide range of responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to plan and carry out special projects and assignments.
  • Strong research, proofreading and editing skills coupled with ability to analyze information for the purpose of preparing reports.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. (knowledge of databases, and both mac and pc systems are assets but not required),
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to contribute to a team devotional or Bible study as requested.

This twenty hour per week position involves a Monday-Friday workweek based in our Abbotsford, BC office.
